Cancer Support

If you or someone close to you has cancer, money may not be one of the first things you think about.

Financial issues can cause worry when someone becomes ill. If you have cancer you may not be earning as much as you were, or working fewer hours. Having cancer can be expensive in more ways than you may think such as increased heating costs or medical costs. There are grants, benefits and advice on how to cope financially available from a variety of agencies.

The Richie Keefe Life and Soul Trust understands that a diagnosis of cancer affects many people's finances and can cause money problems.

The Richie Keefe Trust can help with the cost of living with cancer

As a small independent Trust we are only able to help families in Bournemouth and Poole with a terminal illness such as cancer by assessing families' financial needs, giving our support confidentially and on a case by case basis.

If you are living with cancer and worried about money, there are also a number of Government benefits available, Cancer Help provides a comprehensive source of information.

Some other cancer support organisations, hospitals and self-help groups also have benefits advisers. They can advise you on whether you may be eligible for any benefits or grants.

Further recommended financial information about living with cancer is available from Macmillan's Help With the Cost of Cancer booklet which you can download from us here as a pdf.

The Macmillan Benefits Helpline is a telephone advice service for people with cancer, their family, and carers who need help to access benefits financial support. Calls are answered by experienced benefit advisers. You can call them on 0808 801 0304 Monday to Friday 10am-5pm.

If you or your family is affected by cancer and you live in Bournemouth or Poole you can get in touch with us directly to apply for financial help by emailing us at info@richiekeefelifeandsoultrust.org.uk or writing to us at;
